Grief and loss isn’t only for those who have lost someone in the physical world. Grief comes in many different forms and in this episode we’re talking about the loss of the kind of life you thought you would have had.

Jamie Francis joins me on the podcast this week to talk about the grief and loss she experienced being married to a man who struggled with alcohol addiction.

Jamie and her husband have been together for 16 years, and in the beginning, their relationship was fun and joyful. As the years went on, and as you’ll hear in this conversation, what was once casual drinking turned into a struggle with alcohol addiction.

Listen in as we talk about:

  • Why Jamie didn’t see the warning signs and red flags initially
  • What it was like having her husband in rehab
  • The shame Jamie felt, and the secrets she kept from her friends
  • How Jamie’s friendships changed when her husband stopped drinking
  • The grief that comes with alcoholism
