In this week’s episode, I speak with Mia, a 20-year-old student from England, currently taking a year off to pursue an internship.
Mia left home when she was 15 due to abuse and has been financially independent since then. Her adverse experiences as a child led her to multiple abusive relationships, which led her to develop an eating disorder.
After a long road of recovery, Mia received weekly treatment for her eating disorder and within months had greatly improved. She’s now fully weight restored, volunteers with multiple agencies, and gets great joy from sharing her experience and helping others online.

Note: Not all those who suffer from Bulimia, purge. To get rid of calories and prevent weight gain, people with bulimia may misuse laxatives or weight-loss supplements, diuretics or enemas after bingeing. Or, people will try other things such as fasting, strict dieting or excessive exercise.
