In this week’s episode, I speak with Mia, a 20-year-old student from England, currently taking a year off to pursue an internship.

Mia left home when she was 15 due to abuse and has been financially independent since then. Her adverse experiences as a child led her to multiple abusive relationships, which led her to develop an eating disorder.

After a long road of recovery, Mia received weekly treatment for her eating disorder and within months had greatly improved. She’s now fully weight restored, volunteers with multiple agencies, and gets great joy from sharing her experience and helping others online.

Listen in as we talk about:

  • Pleasing her partner through weight loss
  • When she knew she needed help with her eating disorder
  • Managing her eating disorder without family support
  • How she learned to create boundaries with friends
  • The top 5 things that have helped her healing journey
