In this week’s episode, I speak with Anna Smith, who was a victim of sexual assault in highschool.

Anna shares with us the painful truths of life after sexual assault, and how she has been navigating her wave of emotions.

She also explains how her friend group was not supportive and didn’t believe her, which is often an unfortunate common story heard with victims of sexual assault.

Listen in as we talk about:

  • How her sexual assault happened
  • How she found the inner strength to tell her therapist and parents
  • Ways she shifted from blame to self acceptance and empowerment
  • How she navigated friends and people who didn’t believe her story
  • Her tips for learning to love yourself again after being assaulted
